暑假里，发生了一件令我哭笑不得的事情，那就是教外公学英语。
那是放暑假后不久，不知道外公是怎么想的，让我教他学英语。一开始，我以为是在开玩笑，没当真。可是，今天外公又提出要求，我说:“外公，你都多大岁数啦？干嘛学英语呀？”“六十几就算大了?俗话说得好，'活到老，学到老'。我们人老了，也要继续学！不然不就被这社会淘汰了！这事你不用管，只管教我就行！”
鉴于外公年纪大了，记忆力不好，第一天，我教了他三个单词，两个短语，我想，每天积累一点点，慢慢来，等外公习惯了，再给他加大课容量。可是事与愿违啊！第二天复习时，外公全忘了怎么发音怎么读，在那张大嘴巴“啊啊啊”的，但奇怪的是，他居然把单词、短语全部默写出来了！难道这就是大家常说的“哑巴英语”?我绝对不允许这种现象出现在我的“学生”身上。我对这位“老学生”提出来明确要求，每天的新知识，必须要做到“会读、会写、会用”。
外公可还真是个“听话”的好“学生”！自从我对他提出严厉的要求后，他上课也变得更加积极认真了！拿出个小本子，在上面写呀，记呀的。对于一些难读的单词，他居然还让我把音表给他标注上，下课后，看着音标，跟着百度发音，站在阳台上大声朗读。可是可是……外公有些单词、词组发音听上去还是怪怪的。比如“气球--ballon”，我听到的外公读的是“菠萝音”，“非常感谢--Thank you very much” ，我听到的居然是“杀狗喂猫吃”。我上前抢过他小笔记本一看究竟，好一个狡猾的.“狐狸”。前面单词标注音标，后面短语居然用汉字标注发音。我气得脸都发绿了！我大声呵斥到:“外公！你种的菠萝会说话?杀的狗，准备喂哪只猫?”外公，傻傻地站在那，不讲话了。
哎，在外公记忆里，英语真的没有一个标准发音。好不夸张地说，“甜的”他可以读成“咸的”，“苦的”可以读成“酸的”，每次都气得我肺都要炸了。这时候，外公拿出长辈的架子说:“看看你，看看你！都是你爸妈惯的，一点耐心也没有！我算是疼了个白眼狼！……”没办法，我只好说:“到底您是老师！”
经过辛苦的劳动，最终外公的英语水平没有提高，但我却把英语整个复习了一遍。唉！

第一读。我们中国人学英语存在着很大的问题，那就是哑巴英语。我们懂得很多英语知识，但是却不会说，不能运用到实际中去，也不能和外国人交流，所以曾还有时间多读单词和课文，英语口语是非常重要的，看。我们不仅要看书上的知识，还有很多人可能会选择看美剧来提高自己的英语，但是我们却不知觉地去看中文字幕，but，如果看纯英文字幕我们就什么都看不懂。所以建议大家在长时间里只看一部英文电影而且不要像我一样到了大学才后悔当初没有好啊后读英语，现在都没有时间去读。
第二是纯英文字幕的，反复看，不懂就查，这样两个月英语水平就会得到很大的`提升。其实这也是我的老师交给我的方法，我实验过，很管用。
第三听。如果听不懂英语我们就很难和外国人交流，所以听力也是个不可忽视的重点，我的高考就被听力狠狠地拉了后腿，现在都在猛补，听力是不是一两天就能提高的，除了练习听力题外要明白不是为考试而去练习听力的，所以做好是听下英文的广播，这样提升速度更快。
第四写。俗话说得话，好记性不如烂笔头，我们看见新的单词就要多写，因为就算一时能记住，但也不能保证以后会不会往，毕竟英语单词太多。还有新的语法最好就写进自己的作文里，这样印象更深刻，就会更好的用到实际中去。
综上所述，学英语不能太单向与某一方面，要适当地结合的把读、看、听、写想结合。当然这四点做到了一定要把相关的知识运用到实际中去，知识是死的，但人是活的，只要我们勤奋才能把知识变活。
