臭豆腐身穿一件黑色的礼服，因为它曾经在卤水里洗过热水澡，所以，它才因此有了“臭豆腐”这个雅号。它的'宽约4厘米，长约5厘米，高约2厘米左右，所以它看起来是一个长方体，立在桌上像极了一个方正的墨水瓶。
臭豆腐的味道更是独具特色：咬一口，臭豆腐便爆出又香又烫的油，脆脆的外皮更是有不少的嚼劲，外脆里嫩，辣味之中更加带有几分的酸爽，令人吃了一块还想再吃几块。有一次，我连续吃了好几块，把油溅得桌上、衣服上到处都是。但是，我居然一点都不怪它。还继续美滋滋地吃着。你说，焦香的外皮，嫩嫩的口感，酸辣的味道，让人吃过一次就难以忘记，怎么会忍心去责怪它呢?难怪听说毛主席都对它也情有独钟。
因为它十分美味，是我们湖南人桌上佳肴，口中美食经典，所以它大大地博得了来湖南的旅客的眼球，听说来长沙的火宫殿吃臭豆腐的人简直数不胜数，每天都会排成一条长龙，因此，臭豆腐便成为了咱们湖南最具地方特色，最受欢迎的美食之一。
臭豆腐，虽然小，虽然臭，但它却给我们的味蕾增加了不少美妙的感受，给人留下深刻而妙不可言的印象。
