When I was a child, my favorite holiday was the Spring Festival, and the favorite program was the Spring Festival gala. For me, there is nothing better than the seven days of the New Year: pasting spring couplets, hanging blessings, making dumplings, setting off firecrackers, and one after another is too busy to be happy.
However, as I grew older, I gradually lost interest in the Spring Festival. People were busy and relatives didn't have time to get together. The Spring Festival couplet still affixed, red light still hang, firecracker still put, but always feel the Spring Festival is not such a thing, always feel the Spring Festival really is more and more have no meaning, more and less the flavor of the year.
The most exciting moment has come! The New Year's bell is only 10 seconds away! The 9-8-7-9-8-7-3-2-1. People pay New Year's greetings to each other, send text messages to friends and relatives, call blessing, the family is happy.
I am very happy, because it can be seen that people have not abandoned the tradition of thousands of years, still can feel the "New Year flavor" of Chinese New Year, that is an old and small group circle.

In China, many people believe that some numbers can bring good luck, while some are often connected with misfortune. For example, number 6 in China usually means “doing things smoothly”, number 8 means “make a fortune”, and number 10 means “prefect”. While the number such as 4, usually means “death” because its pronunciation is similar with the Chinese character Si. Therefore, the superstitious people will try their best not to choose telephone numbers or car plate numbers or door numbers which are contain with 4. And the people usually will not have their wedding on 4th. People believe those numbers have magic power, which can bring them good luck or bad luck.
在中国，许多人相信一些数字能给人带来好运气，而另一些则不太吉利。比如说，数字6在中国表示“六六大顺”；数字8表示“挣大钱，大家发”，数字10则表示“十全十美”。而数字4，因为其发音与中文中的“死”字相近，所以被认为不吉利。因此，迷信的人们尽量避免自己的电话号码、车牌号码或是门牌号码含有数字4，人们通常也不会在4号举行婚礼。他们相信，这些数字是有魔力的`，能给人带来好运气或坏运气。
In my humble opinion, I do not think these so-called lucky numbers can bring people good luck. Number stand for nothing but quantity. They are only some arbitrary symbols used for communication. Our ancestors created numbers for counting, not for luck. People believe number 8 can bring good fortune is only because the pronunciation of eight has almost the same sound of “fa cai” in Cantonese. The ironic part is the people who choose the number on purpose do not always make big money, while the people whose telephone numbers or car plate numbers contain 4 do not kick their buckets. Shakespeare said, “If we call a rose by any other name, it would smell sweet as well.” This means there is no connection between sound and meaning. So it’s no good to believe that number has something to do with the luck.

To sum up, we should believe in our personal ability instead of so-called lucky numbers, as a proverb goes, “Man proposes, God disposes.”

It is not advantage for social developments . it influence our images of our country.in my opinion, the elder are devoted all their youth for life,now ,they should have a happy life,i think the authorities concerned should imphasis the importance on politeness,as the old says:condect decide everything.we should form the good habit of politiness ,undoubtful,we should give seat to the elder.

Human Activity and the Earth
There is no doubt that human activity has an effect on the planet. We see the evidence of mankind’s endeavors all around us. While some of man’s accomplishments, such as the building of transportation systems and the consistent supply of potable water, have made Earth a better place for people to live, they have not come without cost. Overall, it seems that human activity harms the Earth more than it benefits it.
For example, the transportation systems that benefit mankind also create pollution and use up valuable energy resources. While we cannot do without transportation these days, we cannot ignore the fact that it has an adverse effect on the planet. Furthermore, those advances that benefit people do not benefit al the life on Earth. Deforestation endangers many animals, and mankind’s great thirst for water and other resources leads to the extinction of many plant forms. In addition, accomplishments such as the supply of potable water to a community are only response to problems that mankind created in the past. It was man that made the water unfit to drink in the first place. Finally, the damage that human activity causes will eventually have a negative effect on people. They will also suffer the effects of pollution and diminishing natural resources.
In conclusion, it seems apparent that man’s activity benefits primarily himself, not the Earth. Moreover, those benefits are only short-term advantages, and man will also suffer the negative effects of his activity in the future. The Earth does not have an inexhaustible supply of resources, so every effort should be made to conserve resources and limit the impact of human activity on the planet.
