In recent years, studying abroad has been popular. Tens of thousands of Chinese students have gone to foreign countries to study. Many people are trying their best to apply to go abroad.
There are many advantages in attending schools abroad. First, students who have studied abroad can act as mediators between people of different cultures. Second, we can learn much more advanced knowledge of science and technology from foreign countries. Third, we can learn foreign languages more quickly.
However, there are some disadvantages. Most of the students are too young to live by themselves without any living experience. Besides, being far away from their home country, they may feel lonely and homesick. Of course the costs are much.

There are some advantages and disadvantages in studying abroad. In my opinion, Im in favour of studying abroad. First of all, If we live with a local family, we will communicate with each other.

However, some people are against studying abroad. In their opinion, first, studying abroad is too expensive. In addition, Since its too far away and we arent familiar with the environment.
We will feel lonely. Whats more, Since we re unfamiliar with Western culture and customs, we may be not used to the food, the way of communication and teaching methods and so on.

They say that they can develop better with advanced facilities and teaching methods in those modern schools. By communicating with foreign students or staying a long time with them, a profitable experience is available to them. By the time they come back home, they are supposed to have a great advantage over the students at home in many ways. I quite agree with what they say.
But one fact Id like to remind them of is that quite a number of overseas students stay abroad disappointed as they cant obtain what they hope for, let alone success. When they are abroad, they are helpless and have to be independent, which is quite contrary to what it is at home. They lack independence; they cant even tell right and wrong apart, and as a result some of them even commit crimes.
Therefore, whether it is good or not to study abroad depends on the individual. So take more factors into careful consideration.
