Crews Resume Search for Missing Waterville Valley Woman&
WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. -- Search crews were back out Sunday searching for a missing Waterville Valley woman.
Beth Upton, 84, has been missing since September.
She was last seen going for a walk near her home.
Crews have spent weeks combing the nearby woods, but so far have not turned up any sizable leads as to what may have happened.
But officials said they are not giving up hope that they might find her alive.
Lt. Todd Bogardus, with NH Fish and Game, said, "Certainly, we always hold out hope that should Ms. Upton receive some help from some folks and just is not sure of her whereabouts, that she would be found safely. Certainly in the wilderness setting though, with the amount of time that's gone by and the weather we've had, if she is in a wilderness setting, it's more of a recovery mission."
Upton's family said she is battling the early stages of Alzheimer's Disease.
Her daughter told News Nine Beth recently joined a retirement home, and was set to head there just a few days before she went missing.
