It is famous for science. 英国的小学教育情况介绍 1.入学年龄与学制。一般来说，英国国立小学为五至十一岁的儿童而设；在苏格兰及英格兰部分地方，小学学龄延至十二岁。五岁时,按照法律是必须上学的年龄,多数五岁的孩子这时候会进入Infant School，而七岁进入Junior School (初级学校)。英国的多数公立学校将Infant School 与Junior School 合并起来，组成Primary School (即我们所说的小学)，每班一般是20—30个学生。 2、课程设置。英语、数学、科学和信息与通讯技术都是各小学的核心课程。在英国，小学阶段实行的是教师包班教学，即一个班上的英语、数学、科学、美术、体育、历史、地理等课程都由一个教师教学，这个班的名字就由这个老师的名字命名，每个班都配有一个助教。但信息与通讯技术、音乐和外语则由专职教师上课。音乐和外语，专职教师一般都在多所学校来回上课。 3、上学时间。学生上学时间为上午9：00至下午3：30，每天六节课，中午不回家，可以选择在学校的餐厅就餐，或自备午餐。一节课的时间一般为25～35分钟，课间休息时间为20～25分钟。一年有三个长假：暑假—七月底（25号左右）到八月底；寒假(圣诞假)------12月20号左右到1月初，约3周；春假（复活节）-----3月底到4月20号，约20天。每个学期一般为三个月，每学期中间有一周的期中假，一般在10月底、2月中以及5月底。 二、课堂教学 1．授课方式。学生没有固定的座位，上课多以讨论为主，孩子们围坐在地板上或以小组为单位围坐在桌子周围。每个教室有一块白板和一、两台电脑和打印机，学生可随时使用。上课时没有任何教材，教师根据全国教学大纲决定教学内容，这些内容分别来自互联网或专业资源网站和生活事例，教师讲解完后就针对所讲内容给学生发放活页练习，并根据学生程度的不同和速度的快慢对个别学生发放不同程度或不同量的练习。速度快、程度好的学生做两张或三张练习，而速度慢、程度较差的学生只做一张练习。学生很少有家庭作业。一周1～2次，每次10分钟左右即可完成。课堂作业当堂完成，当堂检查，单元考试和期中考试完全由任课教师决定，但当学生从小学毕业时要参加全英统一的毕业考试，成绩不作为学生的升学依据，只作为学校教学质量评估的一个方面。 2.老师是学生提问的对象，又是学生解答问题的指路人。在课堂上，教师极少搞满堂灌，一言堂。通常教师只讲授15分钟，其余时间留给学生自学，学生自己钻研教材或独立做作业与练习。教师在课堂上的主要任务是提纲挈领地讲透教材的主要内容，然后进行巡回解答和指导。整个教学过程可以说是教师围着学生转。学生在课堂上的学习方式五花八门。 中学（secondary school;） high school; middle school 句型： Students have English,maths and science at school.
