体验沙狐球
慧慧：原本属于英国宫廷贵族们的消遣游戏的小小沙狐球，今天早已成为遍及欧美的休闲运动项目，而在中国，也开始为许多人们接受与喜爱。Nathan：Right. The shuffleboard is a quite popular leisure time in America, and I’m happy to see that in China, there are also lots of people play that.
慧慧：本来嘛，对于游戏的喜爱是不分国界和民族的。这也是体育为什么可以将世界上不同肤色和信仰的人们团结在一起的主要原因。
Nathan：I agree with that. But different culture will lead to different understanding of a same game. 比如说，the name of shuffleboard has nothing to do with “fox”, but in Chinese, you call it “沙狐球”。
慧慧：不错，不过除了名字上的区别，在各种玩法的表达方法上是否也有区别呢？我们不妨同Nathan一起玩上两盘。
两主持人站在沙狐球台前……
慧慧：（拿起一枚沙狐球）虽然叫做沙狐球，可我们看到其实它并不是一个球，那我们在投球的时候是否还可以说throw the ball, 或 deliver the ball 么？
Nathan：it’s shuffle board, not shuffle ball。这个（接过沙狐球）叫weight. 因为沙狐球需要靠滑动前行，所以“掷球”，我们说：to slide the weights。
Nathan将手中的沙狐掷了出去，反切球滑动停止在得分线上的特写…
慧慧：to slide the weights, 你还别说，在光滑的桌面上滑动，这个slide倒是很形象。
Nathan：Or you may say: to shuffle the weights. That’s why it’s called shuffle board.
慧慧： 哦，shuffle 一词本身就有推来推去、移动位置的意思；所以我们直接用shuffle board 中的这个shuffle 就更加专业一些。
周: So the object of shuffle board is to slide/ shuffle your weights father than your opponent’s weights.
慧慧：那我们来试试？
慧慧和周开始玩球…， 前景字幕上：
两主持人分别持球，在桌上掷球，慧先周后，球将慧慧的球撞到一边…
慧慧：（会心一笑，对观众）有时运动的胜负是靠绝对实力；但有时运动的胜负要靠Nathan这样去损人来利己。不过Nathan, 这种故意撞击对方球的方法是不是直接可以用hit一词表示呢？
Nathan：这次你蒙对了。Or you can also say: to knock away your opponent’s weights.
慧慧：哦. 不过我们的目的好像不是只为了把别人撞走，损人还得利己嘛.
